Agricultural Centre – Harrogate

This award winning mixed-use building has been developed for the Yorkshire Agricultural Society to provide office facilities and a farm shop and café.

The building was conceived as a Green development from the start through to completion. Internal timber doorsets and ironmongery were suitably selected to match this criterion, with ironmongery sourced from ISO 14001 accredited manufacturers. Reduced life cycle costs should also be achieved with this specification.

What the architect said:

‘We wanted to select a stainless steel ironmongery with simple but classic detailing that would look as good in 10 years time. The client has previously had issues with ironmongery failures so we were also keen to specify components that were we confident would not give us any issues. As a result the client’s maintenance team took the components apart to satisfy themselves that they were satisfactory, and they obviously passed the test.’
