We love to get involved at the early stages of a project to offer expert consultation and expertise to the architect or client. That helps us build door schedules which not only work brilliantly but which add design flair and innovation to match the design concept of the whole building.
We have worked on education, commercial, industrial, residential, health care and many other projects in our long history, giving us the pedigree and track record that major clients rely on.
The magnificent Grade II Grantley Hall in Yorkshire opened in the summer of 2019 as one of the UK’s most luxurious hotels and spas after decades of misuse and neglect. Surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful Yorkshire countryside, 17th century Grantley Hall is set on an artificial island created by the canalisation of the River Skell in Ripon.
The renovation was inspired by its original country house grandeur, and while the original building has been retained and restored, it has been joined by two sympathetic new buildings: a new spa building and bedroom wing in a modern Georgian style.
The 5 Star Relais and Chateaux Grantley Hall won the Heritage Award at the 2020 RICS Yorkshire and Humber Social Impact Awards and also reached the national finals.

Housed in the old Majestic Nightclub in Leeds City Centre, Channel 4’s new HQ was conceived to take advantage of the burgeoning talent and film production scene in the North of England.
The building, originally a cinema when it opened in 1921 became a bingo hall and a popular nightclub before it was badly damaged by fire in 2014. The new development, which has retained the original façade, aims to complement original architectural design while transforming the space into a truly 21st century commercial hub.
The new development won the Game Changer category at the 2020 Yorkshire Property Awards and features hidden design gems for its occupants to discover, such as the grand Palm Court to the rear of the building, a magnificent five storey glass atrium.
This is the iconic Gleneagles estate’s first ever city outpost in St Andrew Square, Edinburgh. The new townhouse boasts 33 individually designed bedrooms, each one unique and designed with an appreciative nod to the heritage of the building. The building, originally home to the British Linen Company, later became the Bank of Scotland and in its new reincarnation features a number of bars and restaurants including a striking rooftop terrace.
The project involved the alteration, extension and refurbishment of two notable Category A Listed buildings of significant historic and architectural character within Edinburgh’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We believe our ironmongery is worthy of an entry as the fit for purpose specification took into consideration the need to conserve and retain the buildings natural features. In addition to ironmongery, we also supplied a specialist riser door system throughout the scheme.
