Here at Em-B Solutions, we’re incredibly proud to be the first recipient of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers’ prestigious GuildMark accreditation. But, what exactly is the GuildMark, and what benefit does it have?
The GuildMark is a unique quality standard created by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) and endorsed by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). It serves to assure architects that they are working with architectural ironmongers who meet the highest professional standards. The scheme has been closely developed with the RIBA, to mirror its own professional requirements. It helps partners in the construction industry minimise their technical and commercial risk, whilst maximising their professional capabilities.
To qualify for the GuildMark, a company must be a member of the GAI, have one fully qualified RegAI on its payroll, and hold full professional indemnity insurance. On top of that, they also need to demonstrate the appropriate QA systems, and fully comply with a special GuildMark Code of Practice. Moreover, the GuildMark criteria also underlines the critical role of the RegAI, which means that on top of being qualified GAI Diploma holders, they also need to carry out a full programme of CPD training, ensuring they are constantly renewing their knowledge.
